God this website is sloooow...
Anyway - I think it's time something was done about banks. Yes, but I mean really done.
The legalised (or is it?) ripping of money out of peoples accounts for absolutely no reason except greed is simply the old hand in the till trick in a new guise. When I was a kid you didn't pay to have a bank account - they paid you. Hmmmm...
So what happened - costs went up? Nope - costs went down. You see its all about having control of a cave full of gold that doesn't belong to you. But you just can't help nicking some of it. Grey suited explanations of "essential costs" just don't cut it. They are getting all your interest, and they are taking your money - for nothing. And what really irks me is that you don't do anything about it. Oh yes Mr Bank, stick it up me please, I'll bend over whenever you ask me to.
Keeping your money under your bed is now going to net you an average benefit of at least 100 dollars a year over an ordinary bank account. This is equal to the interest you once would have got on same account if you had 2000 dollars in the bank in the old days. You are now paying for something you once got payed for - you morons. Close those bank accounts and take back your money.
Oh, but I can't close my bank account because I have a loan. Yes you can. Oh, but I can't close my bank account because I want to get a loan. Yes you can.
Banks are evil, greedy, unethical and an enormous blot on the landscape and they will do anything to get your money and then steal as much of it from you as they can. So you can get anything you want from a bank, just like you can from the Devil himself. Proviso for the devil is your soul, proviso for the bank is poverty for you and eternal entrapment.
Why doesn't the government do anything about this uncontrolled and seemingly lawful form of fraud?
Because they are afraid. For the same reason they do nothing about petrol prices.
The only answer is people power. Voting with your feet and your money.
Take it back and keep it for yourself.

Very true. Unfortunately the banks make it as hard as possible to swap.
